About Oceans of Discovery
Our Beginnings
Oceans of Discovery Dive Resort was founded by David Quinlan in 2017. Growing up on the shores of Cork Harbour, I have always had a great appreciation and fascination for our diverse marine world.
I have been lucky enough to have worked as a Marine Biologist and Dive Professional both here in Ireland and across the world. This has brought me to some amazing locations across the globe over the past decade. Experiences working in countries such as Thailand, Madagascar, Indonesia, Mexico and Seychelles to name a few has fueled my passion for the marine world.
Ireland and specifically the South Coast around Cork, has some amazing dive locations and is the perfect place to learn to dive. This is what inspired us to establish Oceans of Discovery.
We aim to provide training and education in a fun-filled safe environment to people from all walks of life. We focus on making sure anybody visiting us has an unforgettable experience and leave with a smile.

What we do
Dive Training With Oceans of Discovery
Ever wondered what it would be like to breathe underwater or what amazing wildlife lies beneath the waves? Well now is your chance! We offer 'no experience required' try dives along with a wide range of PADI diving courses, from our base adjacent to the Roberts Cove Inn, Roberts Cove, Co.Cork.
You can discover a whole new world and progress as a diver, by enjoying an introductory Discover Scuba Diving session or enrolling in one of our PADI certified courses (PADI Open Water, PADI Scuba Diver, PADI Advanced Open Water, PADI Rescue Diver and EFR First aid courses). All courses are taught by a fully qualified PADI Instructor, with training conducted at your own pace in a safe and fun-filled environment.

Oceans of Discovery Marine Education
Oceans of Discovery will be marine education workshops during the school term. We will be running a range of interactive workshops for 6th Class & Transition Year students across the region, as well as interested adult education groups.
We aim to inspire young people from across the region and open their eyes to the incredible diversity and potential of our marine world, whilst also equipping them with additional skills such as first aid and Scuba diving/snorkelling.
Workshops can be tailor-made for specific groups to include a combination of the following: Marine Education Workshops, Discover scuba Diving/Snorkeling Experiences & Emergency First Responder First Aid training (Certified).
First Aid Training In Cork and Munster
As a certified Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) First Aid Response (FAR) instructor, Dave offers a range of first aid workshops and certified first aid courses to suit all.
He runs 'short' first aid workshops designed for students, teachers, employees and other interested groups. These short workshops are approximately two hours in duration but can be tailored to suit your needs, both logistically and in terms of content. Workshops will give participants the skills and knowledge to respond to a range of minor and serious incidents that may require first aid.
As a PHECC approved FAR instructor, David teaches the 3-day First Aid Responder course. This course is designed for individuals who wish to become certified first aiders in their workplace & is also great for members of the general public. Candidates will learn to deal with life-threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions until the arrival of emergency medical services.
